Angeles Crest Christian Camp is located approximately 29 miles above the city of La Canada, just off Angeles Crest Highway (Highway 2) on Sulfur Springs Road. From any direction, take the Angeles Crest Highway (Highway 2) exit off of the 210 freeway. Proceed north on the Angeles Crest Highway into the mountains. Angeles Crest Christian Camp is located approximately 29 miles into the mountains and takes approximately 45 minutes to drive to from the bottom of the hill.
As you head north on Angeles Crest Highway, go past the Mt. Wilson Turnoff (approximately 15 miles) and past the Chilao Campgrounds (approximately 25 miles). Stay on Highway 2 until you pass Newcomb's Ranch Restaurant (on your left hand side). Approximately two miles past Newcomb's Ranch Restaurant, look for the signs that say “Angeles Crest Christian Camp”. Turn left onto Sulfur Springs Road and follow the road for approximately 1.3 miles and look for the entrance sign to Angeles Crest Christian Camp. (Special note: There aren't any gas stations after you leave the bottom of the hill in La Canada. Also, there is no cell phone service once you head into the mountains.)

UPDATED: Getting to Bellis Music Camp / Angeles Crest Christian Camp
Due to the heavy winter snow and storms earlier this year, CalTrans has closed the main highway up to Angeles Crest Christian Camp for repairs. In order to get to Angeles Crest Christian Camp this summer (to go to Bellis Music Camp), each vehicle attending the camp must be escorted up the last few miles up to camp by an Angeles Crest staff vehicle. While the road is safe and emergency vehicles have access to camp at all times, a section of the road is passable by 1 lane at a time, which is the reason for the escort. All vehicles going to Bellis Music Camp should expect to meet at a designated location on Angeles Crest Highway to be escorted to and from the camp grounds.
Please plan on leaving for camp early and allowing yourself plenty of time to make it to the meeting location on the first and last days of camps. We strongly encourage campers to carpool as much as possible.
Directions and Escort Times are below:
DIRECTIONS:
Angeles Crest has provided these instructions (also attached) on where to meet the escorts and how it'll work. There is also a video on the website!
ALL vehicles going to Angeles Crest/Bellis Music Camp will meet on the Upper Big Tujunga Road, just past the Monte Cristo Fire Station (Angeles Crest suggests putting Monte Cristo Fire Station into Google Maps). Once there, please line up behind the escort car, who will keep moving up so we don't block the roads on Angeles Forest Hwy.
Escort cars will depart right on time, taking our vehicles past a locked gate (cars cannot get past this gate without the escort), through a single lane road washout, and to Angeles Crest.
From there, you'll follow Angeles Crest staff on where to park, unload your belongings, get your camper registered, and then back into line to be escorted back.
All cars need to be escorted back past the washed out portion of the road and through the locked gate. Once past the gate, cars can safely drive back on their own.
Here are a couple of notes:
From the base of the mountain, it'll take about 30 minutes to get to the meeting point on Upper Big Tujunga Road by the Monte Cristo Fire Station.
From the meeting point, it'll take roughly 40-45 minutes to get to Angeles Crest Christian Camp.
Overall, the detour/escort adds about 30 minutes to the normal commute to a total of 1.5 hrs.
When dropping off your camper/counselor, please allocate roughly 4 hours to go up, register your camper, and get back down the mountain.
As you turn right onto Upper Big Tujunga Road, you will see "Road Closed" signs partially blocking the entrance to Upper Big Tujunga. Don't worry- this is an official detour provided by CalTrans for residents and those going to the camps affected by the road closure.
There is NO cell phone or internet reception at the meeting location.
There are NO restrooms at the meeting location. Please make sure to use the facilities before you go up the mountain!
It might be hot, so please make sure you have water/snacks! If idling in your car, please be mindful not to kill your battery while waiting.
Please keep in mind we are not the only ones using this detour, so at the meeting location, please do not block any residents who need to pass by.
ESCORT TIMES:
Escorts are instructed to leave right on the dot, so if you're late, you'll have to wait for the next one to come.
On the 1st day of camp, we've set up suggested arrival times to streamline the registration process. If you are carpooling with other campers or have a sibling in different waves, free feel to come to either. If Wave 1 or Wave 2 work better for your schedule, please use either one. Please use Wave 3 (Late Arrivals) only if absolutely necessary.
